This green bean casserole is different from the usual ones you see and somewhat fancier. (Nice for holiday dinners.)

1 (10 oz) can/jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream

2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon MSG (optional)
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper or to taste
1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
