Preparing our own meals is so much better than the other options for many reasons. We can create our portion size, know all the ingredients we are eating and will probably enjoy our meal much more because we took the time to make it.

My husband and I were going to Chilies for dinner one night because we had been given a gift card. I looked up their menu online before we went and found that most the meals I would have ordered had 1000 calories! They did have a “guiltless” section, but it looked boring.

If you cook and eat at home most nights you can “afford” to do this once in a while. But, I do believe one of the reasons so many people are overweight today is they eat out all the time.
